Muscat, May 1st 2012 – Vale successfully concluded its Global Health Week by organizing a blood donation drive at its head office in Muscat in efforts to instill a culture of social responsibility among its staff. In collaboration with Al Jarwani Group and the Central Blood Bank, Vale staff as well as Beit Al Reem tenants and visitors donated blood which can help save the lives of more than 100 people.
The social initiative comes as an extension to Vale’s worldwide campaign across its operations in 38 countries. Focusing on personal, occupational and community health, Vale’s global health week included workshops and interactive sessions on healthy eating, exercising and personal hygiene while highlighting the benefits of community participation and volunteerism.
