Universities

Sultan Qaboos University was established in 1986. It consists of many faculties including engineering, agriculture, education and science, medicine, arts, commerce and economics and nursing. More than half of the students of Sultan Qaboos University are females. For postgraduate degrees, there were about 13410 students for 2007/2008 periods. The entire population of students in the University for the said period is about 14722. German University of Technology is situated at Athaibah in Muscat. It is accredited by Minister of Higher Education, Oman. The TP No of the University is 968 24496013.

Other than universities, private colleges in Muscat offer degrees and master degrees. One of them is Muscat College. It was established in 1996. Muscat College grants Diplomas, Associate degrees, Bachelor's Degrees, Master Degrees. Modern College of Business (TP 968 24482802), Scientific College of Design, (TP No 968 24561555), Middle East College of Information Technology (TP No. 968 24446698), College of Banking and Financial Studies (TP No 968 24505796), Al Zahra College for Women (TP NO. 968 24605010) are other distinguished colleges in Muscat.
