Oman Oil Production Report. - ONA

Muscat, June 8 (ONA)---- The report released by the Oil and Gas Ministry pointed out that the Sultanate's crude oil and condensates production in May 2012 amounted to (28,890,608) barrel or (931,955) barrel in average per day; an increase by (4.93%) compared to April 2012.

The report added that this level of production is considered the highest since nine years. The total exported crude oil in May 2012 amounted to (22,065,149 barrel, an average of (711,779) barrel per day (bpd).

Oman LNG plans to sign new contracts .

Muscat. Oman LNG, a producer of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the Sultanate of Oman, plans to sign new supply contracts in 2014 after BP starts developing an unconventional gas field.

Oman LNG now produces about 5 million metric tonnes a year of LNG and has as much as 2 million tonnes of spare capacity, Brian Buckley, the company's chief executive, said in an interview yesterday at a conference in Kuala Lumpur.
"We have been operating under capacity, but we have been meeting our contracts, Buckley said. "Oman LNG will utilise its spare capacity in the second half of this decade.

Domestic gas demand has 'increased enormously' as the nation builds chemical, aluminum and power plants, Buckley said. BP may finalise investment plans to extract tight gas, an unconventional supply, from an area in Oman next year, and output may start in 2015 or 2016, he said.

OMANOIL SIGNS EXCLUSIVE AVIATION FUEL CONTRACT WITH WORLD’S LEADING AIRLINE ETIHAD AIRWAYS

Muscat, May 15th 2012 – Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) has signed an Aviation Fuel Agreement with Etihad Airways, the world’s leading airline, to become the carrier’s sole provider in the Sultanate which flies to 84 destinations across the globe. The company will supply jet fuel to the entire fleet of aircrafts landing in Muscat International Airport and extend state-of-the-art technical, logistical and engineering support.

Oman's Oil and Gas production - April Monthly Report

Muscat, May 11 (ONA)--- The monthly report released by the Oil and Gas Ministry pointed out that the Sultanate's crude oil and condensates production in April 2012 amounted to (26,645,094)  barrel or (888,170) barrel per day, a (1.97%) rise in comparison with the same period 2011.

The monthly report also added that the total exported crude oil in April 2012 amounted to (23,123,484) barrel, an average of (770,783) barrel per day.

The report pointed out that the Asian markets have received, as usual, the bulk share of the Omani crude oil exports. China topped the list of the Omani crude importers in April 2012 with (58.39 %), followed by Japan (14.25%) and Thailand with (9.08%).
